CHEMOCAP

The concept of scalp cooling chemotherapy patients to prevent hairloss has been around since the late 1960s. Owing largely to the lack of an efficient method of applying the cooling, the practice had all but stopped by the early 1980s. During the 1990s, the development of the Chemocap led to something of a scalp cooling renaissance. The product was very successful with Taxotere and Epirubicin based treatment, easy to apply and well tolerated by patients¹. By 2000, scalp cooling had been re-adopted by the vast majority of UK hospitals.

Intermark was part of the launch of the Chemocap in the UK and has sold it here on an exclusive basis ever since. Although representing only a small part of the company's current business, Intermark continues to supply and support the strong customer base built up in the UK over the years. The company will also supply the product to patients where appropriate.
